Our Easter Weekend At Center Parcs Sherwood Forest

6:57 pm

On Monday I got home from a long, Easter weekend away to Center Parcs in Sherwood Forest. Me and my family used to go all the time, so I was really excited to be going again, it really is one of my favourite places to go on holiday!

There are five Center Parc locations in the UK, Sherwood Forest is about an hours drive from where I live, so we always tend to visit that one. The Center Parcs I visited is set in 400 acres of woodland forest, which contains a mix of both forest and lakeside, so you really feel like you're getting away from the hustle and bustle of every day life and enjoying living surrounded with nature.

I didn't take as many photos as I was planning to, as I was so busy just enjoying spending time with my family, it was the last thing I was worrying about.

Accomodation

The Lodges are within the forest landscape and are designed to bring you closer to nature. Whatever size party or budget, there is accommodation to suit every need. They also have special lodges for people who want to bring their beloved doggies on holiday with them.

Me and Jamie stayed in one of the one-bedroom Executive Lodges. Some of the features include luxury bed linen, flatscreen TV's, WiFi, daily maid service, fully-equipped kitchen and open-plan living area and a private patio with outdoor furniture. My mum and the rest of my family stayed in the three bed executive villa which had all the above features but it also included their own private sauna! It was so lovely to come back to the villa in the evening, have a glass of wine and sit in the sauna and relax.

I absolutely loved the design of the Lodge, it was very modern, clean and minimalist. It was all open plan so I could be in bed and shout Jamie in the kitchen to make me a cuppa!

Please ignore Jamie, he insisted he wanted to "model" in the photo...

This massive swan came right up to our patio doors on one of the days there. We also had visits from ducks, squirrels and wild rabbits.

Activities

When I say there are loads of activities to do at Center Parcs, there is an endless list of activities to do at Center Parcs! Just a selection of activities which we did are tennis, table tennis, squash, driving range, badminton, bowls, swimming, bowling and a segway. From adrenaline-fuelled thrills and wild adventure to creative activities and relaxing spa treatments, there is activities suited for everyone, whatever your age, whatever the weather.

They also have many different restaurants you can visit during your stay and they even have their own takeaway service, so you can have takeaway delivered right to your own lodge.

Subtropical Swimming Paradise

One of my favourite parts of visiting Centrer Parcs is the Subtropical Swimming Paradise. I never really enjoy swimming or show any interest in going swimming when I'm at home, but when I'm there, I want to go swimming all the time. The swimming area is under a huge dome so you stay warm and dry (from the rain!) all the time. There are so many areas to the swimming pool:
A huge main pool with a wave machine, several children's pools, outside pool, water slides, Wild Water Rapids, Grand Cascade ride, plunge pool, exercise pool, several jacuzzi pools and there is also a Starbucks and a bar within the swimming area to get a drink and a bite to eat. There are also activities you can book such as scuba diving and aqua jetting.

I literally had the most amazing weekend away there, it was really nice to get away and live in the forest for a weekend and spend some good, quality time with my family.

Center Parcs, I will be coming back very soon!
