Clinique Super Primer

I've been trying out so many different facial primers recently, but I haven't found the one. I wanted a primer which was really moisturising, smoothed and evened out my skin tone and kept my make up on all day long.

I recently purchased the Clinique Super Primer and I think it's definitely safe to say I think I may have found the perfect primer for me.

This primer comes in four different shades to colour correct different skin concerns. I picked up the White shade, which is the universal face primer, suitable for any skin type.

I apply this all over the skin using my fingers to blend it out. It glides on to the skin really easily and smooths and evens out the skins texture. It feels really moisturising on the skin, but because it is oil-free it doesn't have the "oily" feeling a lot of primers can sometimes have. It really does create an ideal makeup canvas.

It's also allergy tested and 100% fragrance free, so if you have sensitive skin, this primer would be really nice for you to use too.

I also found it helped to reduce shine and oiliness in my t-zone area of the face and it actually did keep my makeup on all day long.

Have you tried this primer? What do you think?

The Perfect Summer Playsuit

For me, playsuits are a huge summer staple in my wardrobe. You can wear them during the day in the sun, or dress them up and wear them to go out for cocktails in the evening.
They also save so much time in picking out an outfit to wear as they are an all in one, no need to be stressing out finding a top to match your shorts!

I've put together a little collection of a few of my favourite high street and designer playsuits at the moment:

Glossybox: July 2016

As summer is approaching, this month's Glossybox contains five full-sized products designed to achieve a sun-kissed glow, is the safest way possible.

I have been subscribed to Glossybox for a whole year now, so they also threw in a special Glossybox notebook for me!

Utan And Tone Nourishing Night Creme - full size £12.50
This night cream is super moisturising and contains all the essential vitamins and anti-oxidants your skin needs to repair itself, but also contains a golden colour you'd expect from a gradual tanner. You'd pop this on your face before bed and wake up with a gorgeous, tanned face in the morning! It also won't stain your pillow and it doesn't have the biscuity-tan smell.

Blank Canvas F20 Flat Brush - full size £11.95
This brush is perfect for applying liquid, cream or powder makeup. I use this to apply my liquid foundation and it gives my skin the most flawless finish.

Icona Milano Emotion Allowed Mascara - full size £13.04
This mascara is completely waterproof, so water, sweat and humidity is not going to be a problem. The creamy formula is buildable, so you can top up the mascara throughout the day and it gives the lashes a really intense, bold look.

Hawaiian Tropic Island Berry Lip Gloss SPF 25 - full size £6.99
This lip gloss offers 12 hour moisturisation to the lips and it also provides advanced UVA and UVB protection, so your lips will be protected throughout the day in the sunshine.

Hairon De-Tangle Brush - full size £6.99
Hair is more prone to breakage when it's wet. This brush is designed to fit right into the palm of your hand and is also designed to detangle wet hair without pulling or snagging. It's also the perfect sized brush to fit into your handbag!

Vichy Dermablend Setting Powder

Setting powder should be a must-have in everyone's make up routine. It helps keep your make up on for longer and it also provides a matte, natural finish, so if you have combination or oily skin, it really is a necessity.

I am currently using the Vichy Dermablend Setting Powder. I ordered this from the FeelUnique website because as I was reading the reviews for this product, everyone was saying how incredible it was, I didn't come across a negative review, so naturally, I had to give it a go!

This is a loose setting powder, which is white in colour. Because it is a loose powder, I'm not going to lie, it can get a little messy. I like to apply it to my face using the sponge provided and then blend it into my skin using my Real Technique Powder Brush.

It is white in colour, but when blended into the skin, it adjusts to your skin tone and creates a gorgeous, natural looking matte finish. My skin also gets quite oily during the day, and this literally keeps my skin matte all day long, but without it feeling cakey. It keeps my make up in place all day long too!

I would definitely recommend this product, it is one of my must-haves.

Glossybox: June 2016

This month's Glossybox contains five of summer's most exciting products and also contains an added bonus product and it's safe to say, I'm super impressed with the box this month.

Ladival Sun Protection Spray SPF 15 - full size £19.99
One of the main products which spring to mind when I think of summer is suncream, so it was really nice to get this product in this month's box. This suncream is extra special as it protects against four types of UV rays and a lot of suncreams don't do this. It's perfect for people with sensitive skin as it contains no perfume and it is a non-greasy, water-resistant formula.

De Bruyere After Sun Lotion - full size £9.48
As well as suncream, this month's box also contains an After Sun. When skin feels a little sore and sensitive after being in the sun all day, this after sun is perfect to massage into the skin as it contains gardenia petals soaked in coconut oil alongside vitamin E, which hydrates, nourishes and calms the skin. It's also paraben and silicone free.

Origins GinZing Energy Boosting Moisturiser - full size £ 24
This moisturiser is oil-free and has a really lightweight formula which instantly hydrates and energises the skin. It contains skin-boosting ingredients including coffee beans and panax ginseng. Use morning and at night for a healthy glow.

Spa To You Konjac Sponge - full size £6.99
Konjac sponges are the latest cleansing trend from Japan. They are made from natural fibres of the konjac, which is a porous root vegetable native to Asia and known for its ability to hold water. This rubbery sponge leaves skin clean and soft.

Emite Makeup Lip & Cheek Tint - full size £ 12.50
This lip and cheek tint is so easy to use, just dab a few dots on to the cheeks and lips and blend in using your fingertips to add some colour to your complexion. Perfect to use if you are in a rush in the morning!

Aussie Hair Care 3 Minute Miracle Reconstructor Deep Conditioner - full size £1.09
This is the bonus product in this month's box. My hair is naturally frizzy and is prone to heat damage, so this will be perfect for me to use once a week to bring my hair back to life.

I'm really impressed with this month's Glossybox, what do you think?

Our Engagement & Holiday To Skiathos

Sorry I haven't posted anything for a while, I've been away on holiday to Skiathos in Greece and I also got engaged!

Jamie's proposal could not have been any more perfect. At night time, up in the hills, overlooking the sea and the incredible surroundings. He just dropped down on one knee, held out the ring to me and said, "Will you marry me?" I didn't even think twice, of course I said yes! I can't believe I'm going to marry my best friend, and the man who has loved me since I was 15 years old.

He proposed on the first night of our holiday, which meant that we could enjoy the whole holiday as a newly engaged couple! We have had so many people send us messages, coming up to us and congratulating us, buying us cards etc. it's been so overwhelming, I  still can't really believe it.

We are both also so pleased that we managed to get the special moment captured on camera!

--

We had the most incredible holiday, we stayed at the Filia Studios & Apartments in Troulos, which is where we stayed last year. The rooms are basic, but still really lovely and have everything you could possibly need. The people who work there are some of the friendliest, nicest people I have ever met! This was my second time visiting, and it must be Jamie's 7th or 8th time, so we both had a really good bond with the staff and the owners, which is really great as it makes you feel completely at home.

This place is great for first-time visitors, but it is also a place where people come back year after year, so we met up with a few couples who were there last year. It's really nice to see familiar faces and we've made some lifelong friends.

Me and my fiance by the pool!
We really enjoyed lounging around the pool on the sunbeds, the whole area is really clean, tidy and well-kept and there are plenty of sunbeds, so you don't have to get up early to reserve your sunbed. It has a bar/restaurant which sells many drinks, cocktails and delicious homemade Greek food.

Troulos has many restaurants and tavernas which are all within walking distance of where we stayed. It was nice to go out for a meal and then on the way back home stop off at all the tavernas and try out different drinks.

The view from our balcony.
The view from our balcony was breathtaking, the photo doesn't even really do it any justice. Waking up to this view was one of my favourite parts of this holiday. When the sun had set, we enjoyed sitting on the balcony, wrapped up in blanket with a drink in our hand, admiring the night time view.

Troulos Beach
Skiathos Town
Skiathos Town
Skiathos Town
You can get a bus from where we stayed into Skiathos Town, which only costs €4 for the both of us. Yet again, Skiathos Town has many places to eat and drink and has a huge harbour, which is really nice to walk around and look at all the boats and yachts. There are also loads of boats you can have day trips on and visit other beaches on the island which are only accessible by boat. We unfortunately didn't manage to go on a boat trip this time as the day we booked to go we had bad weather! Skiathos Town also has loads of cobbled back streets with lots of lovely gift shops and restaurants.

Greek BBQ Night at Filia Studios
At Filia Studios they host a Greek BBQ Night, where all the guests sit together, enjoying traditonal Greek food and also take part in doing Greek dancing! It's such good fun and a really nice way to meet new people and catch up with friends.

Cocktails in Skiathos Town
I'm getting serious holiday blues writing this blog post, boo! But anyway, I've wrote a full review of the place we stayed on Trip Advisor, so if you would like to give that a little read, you can do so here.

I'd definitely recommend visiting Skiathos if you ever get the chance, such a gorgeous place, with beautiful food and the friendliest people I have ever met. My favourite place on Earth.

My Holiday Beauty Essentials

I'm going to Skiathos in Greece in five days, so I thought I would put together a little blog post about some of my holiday beauty essentials I like to take abroad with me, in case any of you lovely people are also going away and have no idea what to pack, beauty wise!

Not my photo, found on Pinterest.

Skincare

Suncream, obviously. There is nothing worse than sunburnt, peeling skin, so suncream is a must to keep your skin protected from the sun.

I love to wear a shimmery body oil like the Cocoa Brown Golden Goddess Shimmering Body Oil in the evenings to enhance my tan and give me a healthy, shimmering glow to the skin.

Lip balm with added SPF is a must have to keep your lips hydrated and protected from the sun all day long. I really like the Palmers Cocoa Butter Ultra Moisturising Lip Balm with SPF 15.

I always seem to end up taking a body moisturiser containing coconut in it, I just love the smell of coconut! To me, it is a really "summery" smell. This year I'm taking the Body Shop Coconut Body Butter.

I also always take an Aftersun with me. I really like the Nivea After Sun Bronze Tan Prolonging Lotion as it really helps to soothe the skin after being in the sun all day and it also helps to enhance your tan and make it last much longer.

Hair

Shampoo & Conditioner. I like to wash my hair every evening when I'm on holiday to make it feel fresh after sunbathing all day long! I like to get a shampoo and conditioner which contains Argan Oil, so it feels silky soft and it gets that little bit extra nourishment.

Hair ties are a must when I'm on holiday, as I can't bear to wear my hair down during the day, it's just far too hot for that.

I always take a hair oil with me like the Moroccanoil Treatment to keep the ends of my hair hydrated and help keep my frizz under control in the humidity.

Makeup

Bright lips are an essential for me for summer evenings, I always like to take a couple of bright lipstick options with me abroad. I really like the MUA Luxe Velvet Lip Lacquer in Zest. This is a really gorgeous, bright coral coloured liquid lipstick, which stays on all evening, so matter how much you eat or drink. I also try to only take liquid lipsticks abroad with me, as you don't have to worry about them melting in the heat!

Rather than wearing a foundation in the evenings, I always prefer to wear a BB Cream as they feel much more lightweight on the skin than a foundation. I also find that my skin doesn't get as oily when I wear a BB Cream.

I always wear a waterproof mascara during the day when I'm on holiday as I don't want sea water or sweat (ew) ruining my eye makeup and having it run down my cheeks!

Other

I always like to carry a packet of baby wipes around in my beach bag. When I'm sunbathing, I like to give my face a quick wipe just to freshen up and wipe off any excess sweat! Gross I know, but it makes me feel so much fresher. You could also use them all over your body just to freshen up during the day.

Fresh, summer fragrance. This year I'm taking the Next Sparkle Azure Body Mist with me, which is a beautiful, fresh floral accord with aquatic and white musk tones. The mist also contains a shimmer, so when you spray it on to your body, you look all shimmery and gorgeous!

What are your holiday beauty essentials?

Bondi Sands Liquid Gold

I am no way an expert in the fake tanning department, I have probably fake tanned about once in my lifetime! However, I was sat outside in the garden the other day with my pasty, pale legs out and I thought something had to change. Lying for hours in the sun isn't really an option as I burn to a crisp, so I thought I would be adventurous and invest in some fake tan.

I recently watched on YouTube Lydia Millen's video on How To Get A Perfect & Even Fake Tan and in the video she used the Bondi Sands Liquid Gold Self Tanning Oil. It looked so easy and quick to use, so this was the self-tan I decided to pick up from my local Boots store.

The best thing about this product is that unlike many other fake tans, you don't have to wash it off afterwards. You can jump in the shower, exfoliate your whole body, apply the tan after your shower, get dressed, put make up on and then carry on with the rest of your day!

Also, rather than having that awful "fake tan" smell, this has a coconut scent, which is one of my favourite scents ever.

The only issue with this is that because it is an oil, you can't really see where you have applied it on your skin. However, as long as you're using a tanning mitt and making sure you buff it out as much as possible, you will be left with a gorgeous, streak-free, even, natural looking tan.

I'm definitely so glad that I decided to pick this up and I think from now on, fake tanning will definitely play more of a part in my skincare routine.

Glossybox: May 2016

This month's collector's edition box is dedicated to Glossybox's favourite urban destinations. There are four collectable boxes all themed as London, Paris, New York or Berlin. The design of these boxes are by OMY Studio and I'm absolutely in love with this months box, especially the design!

Crabtree & Evelyn - full size £5.00
This hand cream has won many awards and it's very clear as to why. It contains nourishing shea butter and macadamia nut oil as well as myrrh to condition your nails and cuticles. It leaves hands feeling silky soft and hydrated and it smells gorgeous too.

Absolute New York Velvet Lippie - full size £4.93
Everyone knows I love a liquid lipstick, so I was super excited to receive this. It looks like a nude shade from the photo, but it's actually a gorgeous pink-coral colour, perfect for summer. It glides on really smoothly and sets to a gorgeous matte finish.

Loceryl Nail Gel - full size £16.99
This gel is designed to improve the condition of your nails, promoting natural growth and helping to repair damage and discolouration. It says to apply twice a day and within a few weeks you should start to see results.

Bee Good Youth Enhancing Plump & Firm Moisturiser - full size £23.50
This moisturiser plumps, smooths and softens the skin, leaving it feeling really nourished and hydrated with a lovely dewy, luminosity finish. The packaging is cute too.

Revlon Volume & Length Magnified Mascara - full size £9.99

This month, Glossybox subscribers were given the chance to pick which one of Revlon's new mascaras they wanted to have. I picked the Volume & Length Magnified mascara as I need all the help I can get in the eyelash department. This mascara is fantastic and I love the unusual packaging.

I also got a packet of Popcorn in my box too. Slightly random but a nice touch. However, I don't like popcorn so I ended up giving it to my mum, so she was super happy with what I got in this box haha!

If you are thinking of subscribing to this monthly subscription beauty box, you can do so here.

What did you think of this month's box?
