Glossybox: April 2015

Sorry for such a delayed Glossybox post, I've been so busy lately, I completely forgot to blog all about it, oops!

So this month's box contains products which are perfect for Spring and the weather getting that little bit warmer. I'm going to say now, that I was actually a little disappointed in this box, I just had higher expectations I think, haha. Anyway, here's what I got:

Leighton Denny Expert Nails Miracle Mist - full size £12
I've not tried out this product yet, but I'm so looking forward to. There is nothing more annoying than painting your nails a beautiful colour and getting them looking perfect, then going and accidently smudging them! This nail polish drying spray prevents that, you just simply spray it on to freshly painted nails and they dry within 2-3 seconds.

STYLondon Temporary Henna Tattoos - full size £5.99
I'm probably not going to use these as they just aren't my 'thing', however they do look really nice and would be nice to wear for a festival or going abroad on holiday!

Essence Mosaic Compact Powder - full size £3
This gorgeous bronzer is perfect for giving your skin a lovely, sun-kissed glow. It has a lovely natural colour to it, which isn't too orange and it's really easy to blend too.

The Body Shop Oils Of Life Intensely Revitalising Facial Oil - full size £28
I love this facial oil! It feels really lightweight on the skin and leaves my skin feeling baby soft, looking radiant and overall just beautiful. Definitely will be purchasing the full size version when I've used all of this one.

Studio 10 Brow Lift Perfecting Liner - full size £22
I've not used this yet, but this looks like a really handy product for perfecting your eyebrows. One end if the defining eyebrow pencil and the other end is a highlighter which is perfect for blending into the brow bone.

Like I said before, I was a little disappointed in this box, however I still received some lovely products! I'm excited to see what next months box brings.

Pins I'm Loving #1

Loving this colour scheme for this master bedroom. Trying to gather as much home decor inspiration as possible for when Jamie and me move out!

This just makes me so excited for my holiday to Skiathos, 44 days to go!

I need to get myself some of these Charlotte Tilbury cream eyeshadows, absolutely gorgeous.

Kiko Milano Water Eyeshadow

Oh my goodness, this Kiko Milano Water Eyeshadow is a gift from Heaven.
Anything gold and shimmery I have to have, so I naturally picked up this beauty along with a whole basket of other products I don't really need from my local Kiko store!

The packaging itself isn't anything special, however, the eyeshadow itself is presented in a three-dimensional shape, which looks so interesting and gorgeous!

Without water.

As you can see from the swatch above, this eyeshadow is highly pigmented and is a gorgeous, perfect gold colour. It has a really lovely soft and creamy texture to it, but doesn't crease at all on the eyelid. When used without water, it is quite sheer and is perfect to use on the face as a highlighter or as a subtle hint of gold on the eyelids.

When used with a wet brush, it turns into a much more vibrant, bold, metallic golden colour. This would be too harsh for a highlight, but if you are after a really bold look on the eyes, this is perfect.

The staying power is really amazing as well, they stay on for hours without any creasing or fading!*

Overall, the perfect product if you are after a really bold, metallic eyeshadow! I will definitely be picking up some more shades.

*I did use a primer and a setting spray when wearing this shadow.

Benefit Dew The Hoola

I saw that this is one of the new products from the Benefit Hoola range, and as I am a huge fan of the original Hoola Matte Powder Bronzer, I was really intrigued to try out this new product.

First of all, the packaging is amazing, just like all other Benefit products. It comes in a metallic, multi-coloured box with palm trees and other tropical plants printed on it. It tells you the name of the product, Dew The Hoola and a small amount of text on the back informing you what the product is and how to use it. It also comes with a leaflet inside the box, giving you a few different ways of using the product. The product itself is a gorgeous gold palm tree trunk? (That's what I think it is anyway!) with a pump dispenser.

I'm always a bit cautious when it comes to bronzers, this only comes in one shade and because I'm quite fair skinned, many bronzers look orange on my skin. When I first squirted some on the back of my hand, my instant thought was that this is so orange, I'm not going to be able to use it! However, when I applied it on my face, it didn't look orange at all and blended really beautifully into my skin.

I apply this by squirting a blob on the back of my hand and then using my Zoeva 110 Face Shape Brush to apply a line under my cheekbones, underneath my jawline and around the edge of my forehead. I then take my Beauty Blender and blend the outer edges of the contour lines I just created. I then take my Hoola Matte Powder Bronzer and use this to set the contour and blend again using the same brush I used in the first place, to give me the most amazing, natural looking cheekbones! I finish off the look by applying one of my very many highlighters above the cheekbones, on my brow bone and on my cupid's bow.

You can also just apply this to bare skin or entirely over your foundation to give your whole face a natural, bronzed look.

I simply love how natural this bronzer looks and how easily it blends into the skin, this really is a product I think I'm not going to be able to live without!

Have you tried anything from the new Benefit Hoola Range?

Skincare Saviours

My skin has been really playing up recently, I've been suffering with breakouts and really dry, dehydrated skin, so I thought I would share a few products with you which have really helped my skin recently.

I first product I use is the La Roche-Posay Effaclar Purifying Cleansing Gel to cleanse my skin, morning and evening. This product has done wonders for my skin and is one of my all time favourite cleansers. It is specially designed for oily skin and it helps to remove impurities from the skin and any excess sebum, leaving the skin feel clean and fresh.

The second product I use is also from the La Roche-Posay Effaclar Range and it is the La Roche-Posay Effaclar Duo. This is an anti-blemish treatment which corrects the appearance of blemishes, unclogs pores and refine the look of skin texture. This is also a miracle product I can't live without, my skin has pretty much been blemish-free since I first starting using it.

When my skin is feeling seriously dehydrated, I always reach for the Kiehl's Ultra Facial Hydrating Overnight Masque. At night time before I go to bed, I apply a thick layer of this to my face and leave on for ten minutes. After ten minutes I take a cotton pad and remove excess product from my face, but leave a thin layer to then soak in overnight. In the morning, I simply cleanse my face as I usually would and my skin literally feels amazing!

These are just a few of my skincare products I couldn't live without! Have you got any skincare saviours you would like to recommend to me?
