Our Easter Weekend At Center Parcs Sherwood Forest

On Monday I got home from a long, Easter weekend away to Center Parcs in Sherwood Forest. Me and my family used to go all the time, so I was really excited to be going again, it really is one of my favourite places to go on holiday!

There are five Center Parc locations in the UK, Sherwood Forest is about an hours drive from where I live, so we always tend to visit that one. The Center Parcs I visited is set in 400 acres of woodland forest, which contains a mix of both forest and lakeside, so you really feel like you're getting away from the hustle and bustle of every day life and enjoying living surrounded with nature.

I didn't take as many photos as I was planning to, as I was so busy just enjoying spending time with my family, it was the last thing I was worrying about.

Accomodation

The Lodges are within the forest landscape and are designed to bring you closer to nature. Whatever size party or budget, there is accommodation to suit every need. They also have special lodges for people who want to bring their beloved doggies on holiday with them.

Me and Jamie stayed in one of the one-bedroom Executive Lodges. Some of the features include luxury bed linen, flatscreen TV's, WiFi, daily maid service, fully-equipped kitchen and open-plan living area and a private patio with outdoor furniture. My mum and the rest of my family stayed in the three bed executive villa which had all the above features but it also included their own private sauna! It was so lovely to come back to the villa in the evening, have a glass of wine and sit in the sauna and relax.

I absolutely loved the design of the Lodge, it was very modern, clean and minimalist. It was all open plan so I could be in bed and shout Jamie in the kitchen to make me a cuppa!

Please ignore Jamie, he insisted he wanted to "model" in the photo...

This massive swan came right up to our patio doors on one of the days there. We also had visits from ducks, squirrels and wild rabbits.

Activities

When I say there are loads of activities to do at Center Parcs, there is an endless list of activities to do at Center Parcs! Just a selection of activities which we did are tennis, table tennis, squash, driving range, badminton, bowls, swimming, bowling and a segway. From adrenaline-fuelled thrills and wild adventure to creative activities and relaxing spa treatments, there is activities suited for everyone, whatever your age, whatever the weather.

They also have many different restaurants you can visit during your stay and they even have their own takeaway service, so you can have takeaway delivered right to your own lodge.

Subtropical Swimming Paradise

One of my favourite parts of visiting Centrer Parcs is the Subtropical Swimming Paradise. I never really enjoy swimming or show any interest in going swimming when I'm at home, but when I'm there, I want to go swimming all the time. The swimming area is under a huge dome so you stay warm and dry (from the rain!) all the time. There are so many areas to the swimming pool:
A huge main pool with a wave machine, several children's pools, outside pool, water slides, Wild Water Rapids, Grand Cascade ride, plunge pool, exercise pool, several jacuzzi pools and there is also a Starbucks and a bar within the swimming area to get a drink and a bite to eat. There are also activities you can book such as scuba diving and aqua jetting.

I literally had the most amazing weekend away there, it was really nice to get away and live in the forest for a weekend and spend some good, quality time with my family.

Center Parcs, I will be coming back very soon!

Bath and Body Loves

I thought I'd share with you my favourite bath and body products I am loving at the moment!

First off I'm going to start with the Clarins Tonic Bath & Shower Concentrate. I don't really use this in the shower, however, I like to use this when I take a lovely, relaxing bubble bath. I pour a small amount into the warm, running water, which causes the treatment to "activate" releasing the invigorating, aromatic virtues of rosemary, mint and geranium. This smells gorgeous and it feels really luxurious.

Whilst in the shower or the bath, I like to use the Soap & Glory Scrub Of Your Life which is a smoothing body scrub. This is one of my favourite body exfoliators, it smells gorgeous and leaves my skin feeling super soft after using it.

Once I'm out the shower, to moisturise my skin I love to use the Dove DermaSpa Goodness Body Lotion. This leaves my skin feeling really nourished and moisturised. It feels really light on the skin and absorbs really quickly. Even hours after applying it, my skin feels as if I have only just applied it.   Another moisturiser I love to use is the Dove DermaSpa Goodness Body Oil. I sometimes like to use body oils as I find that they have a more luxurious feel to them. This body oil is also really nourishing and gives my skin a gorgeous, radiant glow. It looks especially nice when worn with a tan.

What are your favourite bath and body products at the moment?

Glossybox: March 2016

This month's Glossybox contains products which are designed to get your glow back which winter weather stole away! I'm super impressed with this box, it contains hair care products, skincare and make up products.

Lucie Rose Gold Large Angled Face Brush 504 full size- £10.42
The first product in my box is the Luxie Angled Face Brush, look how gorgeous it is! This brush is perfect for contouring as it fits in the contours of your face perfectly and the bristles are so soft, it makes blending products really easily.

-417 Catharsis Vitamin Mineral Shampoo & Conditioner full size - £16.89 each
This shampoo and conditioner contain Dead Sea moisture balancing minerals, energising vitamins and essential oils, which means they leave your hair feeling hydrated, super gleaming and lustrous. These are the travel-sized versions, so I think I'm going to take them on holiday with me when I go to Greece, to make sure my hair stays healthy and hydrated in the heat.

Collection Speedy Highlighter full size - £3.99
This highlighter is one of my new favourites! Because it is in a stick form, it is super easy to apply, just swipe it on the areas you want to highlight. It also means it is easy to carry around in your handbag if you want to touch-up during the day. It has a gorgeous shimmer to it, which isn't too overpowering, so it leaves a really natural, subtle glow on the skin.

Olay Regenerist Luminous Skin Tone Perfecting Cream full size - £29.99
This is designed to be applied morning and evening to cleansed skin. It hydrates, exfoliates and smoothes the skin to leave you with a healthy, glowing complexion. It's also designed to even out the skin tone, helping to get rid of any discolouration or dark spots on the face. This is a travel-mini size, which is only 7ml, so a bit of a bigger sample would have been nice, however, this would be really good to pack when travelling.

Hey Honey Good Morning Honey Silk Facial Serum full size - £28.81
This serum feels really light and luxurious on the skin. It contains honey and propolis which are two of natures most potent antiseptic and antibacterial ingredients made by bees. It replenishes and protects the skin, leaving you with a gorgeous, glowing complexion.

If you are considering signing up for this gorgeous, monthly beauty box, you can do so here.

Home Interior Inspo

Hi everyone!

As much as I love my blog just being about beauty, I have come to the decision that rather than just writing posts about beauty, I am going to cover a wide range of topics, such as home design, food, fashion, travel etc etc.

Recently I have been struggling with a bit of writers block and not really knowing what to actually write about. To be honest, I am actually getting a little bored and fed up with just posting the same things, the same topic over and over again. My blog will still probably mostly be beauty-based, I just wanted to mix it up a little and let you guys read about other things too!

--

Now that is out the way, I also want to tell you some really good news. Me and my partner Jamie are now saving up, ready to move out and move into our own little home. We are so excited, we keep going shopping and buying little bits and bobs for the home (who knew we would get so excited about buying baking trays)!

I have also been obsessed with looking on Pinterest and other home interior blogs to find inspiration for our new home, so I thought a good starting point for my newly re-designed blog would be a home inspiration post. Here are some images from Pinterest which have caught my eye recently.

Maybelline Dream Velvet Foundation

As a young teenager, I used to slather on the Maybelline Dream Matte Mousse like there was no tomorrow. I loved it. To be honest, I think every teenage girl did. However, as I got older, I outgrew my young, teenage beauty products (and habits!) and actually started to wear makeup which suited my skin type etc etc.

When Maybelline bought out this Dream Velvet Foundation I was super excited to get my hands on it and try it out.

This is a gel-whipped foundation, which contains water so your skin feels hydrated for up to 12 hours. But wait? It's also a soft-matte finish? Is that even possible? Maybelline has made it possible and created their first hydrating, soft-matte finish foundation. That's right, this foundation is suitable for both dry skin individuals and also oily skin individuals!

This is the foundation I love to use for daily wear. When applied, it gives you a really good, not too heavy coverage, which feels really light on the skin. I use my beauty blender to apply and it blends out so easily and really gives me a flawless finish, which also feels velvety-soft on the skin.

I have a combination skin type, so this foundation hydrates the dry areas of my face, but also mattifies the oiler areas, but doesn't leave my skin looking dull or flat. It just looks really natural on the skin and brightened my entire face up.

This foundation is also super long-lasting, you can wear it for hours without needing any touch-ups. I wear this for work so I can wear it up to 10 hours a day and with a little setting powder, it really does stay on all day.

Have you tried this foundation yet? What do you think?

Dove DermaSpa Goodness3 Pampering Gift Set

The ladies at Dove have very kindly sent me this limited edition DermaSpa Goodness3 Pampering Gift Set
"With its blend of omega oil and our Cell-Moisturisers® (key moisturising actives made from natural seed oils) our Goodness³ formula nourishes deep into the heart of skin cells, to leave skin even-looking, luminous and velvety soft. Paired with a luxurious sleeping mask, and the scent of creamy vanilla, succulent coconut and musk lingering on your skin, you can send that special person in your life off to bed feeling intensely cared for." - Quote taken from the Dove website.

I already own these products from a previous time I got them sent to me, so I'm not going to go into too much detail about them (previous post can be found here), however, these are definitely some of my favourite products at the moment, so I'm so incredibly grateful I have been sent some more!

As you can see from the image above, the gift set comes beautifully gift wrapped in this lovely gold and white gift box. Inside the box, the products are protected with a gorgeous gold coloured tissue paper, the whole box just oozes such a luxury feel.
All the products leave the skin feeling gorgeous and hydrated, velvety-soft to the touch and even looking, everything you could wish for from body moisturisers.

Like I said before, these are my favourite products to use on my body at the moment, especially with the cold weather, my skin dries out so easily, so these are life savers for me. The DermaSpa range is also my favourite because I truly feel like I'm having a spa-like experience whilst using them, from the texture to the fragrance of the products, they are truly luxurious.

This gift set currently retails at £20 from all major retailers. This set is perfect for spoiling the special woman in your life, whether it be your mum, partner, best friend, whoever. This set will definitely put a smile on her face.
