My Current Skincare Routine

Only until recently, I have become obsessed with skincare. I never really used to bother about looking after my skin, I literally just used to remove my makeup using a makeup wipe (a big no no!) and that was it!

Now there is nothing I love more than pampering myself by taking off my makeup at the end of the day and looking after my skin, morning and evening.

First of all I use the Kiko Milano Cleansing Pure Gel to fully cleanse my skin. I dampen my face with warm water, massage the gel into my skin and then simply rinse off using a clean flannel. After cleansing, I like to use the St Ives Invigorating Apricot Facial Scub to exfoliate my skin. Exfoliating is really important as it helps to get rid of any dead skin cells and it leaves your skin looking gorgeous and radiant. This particular scrub smells absolutely beautiful too.

I then use the Garnier Skin Naturals Refreshing Toner to tone, cleanse and refresh the skin. I apply this using a cotton pad. The Elizabeth Arden Intervene Timefighting Radiance Serum is another favourite of mine. This serum helps to add radiance to the skin and it also contains anti-ageing properties. I think Elizabeth Arden has discontinued this product, however you can still buy from places like Amazon and TKMaxx.

To moisturise I use various moisturisers. My first favourite is the Talika Photo Hydra Day Cream and if  I'm having a particularly oily-skin day I like to use the Kiko Milano Mat Fluid as this moisturiser softens the skin but also reduces shine and the appearance of blemishes.

Finally, I like to use the La Roche-Posay Effaclar Duo all over the face to help correct the appearance of blemishes, unclog pores and refine skin texture.

What are your favourite skincare products?

Lush Face Mask: BB Seaweed

I know I recently uploaded a post on the Dead Sea Spa Magik Mud Mask, however, I also wanted to share this face mask with you, the BB Seaweed face mask from Lush

When I went into the shop a member of staff came over to me and asked me what I wanted from a face mask. I told him that I had combination skin, and just wanted a face mask to fully cleanse my face, give me some radiance and overall just pamper myself and make me feel beautiful! This was the mask he recommended to me, so obviously I bought this one!

This face mask contains fresh seaweed, ground almonds, rose absolute and aloe vera which are designed to soothe and soften the skin. Rosemary oil for its regenerative properties, kaolin to help get rid of any excess dirt or oil and millet flakes to gently exfoliate the skin to get rid of dead skin cells.

Most of Lush's face mask need to be kept in the fridge as they are made with completely natural, fresh ingredients. This also means they don't have a very long shelf-life; Only about 3 weeks, but knowing the everything is fresh makes up for that. Also, as it's kept in the fridge, when you apply it to your face, it's lovely, soothing and cool on the skin.

When applying this mask, apply a thick, generous layer to the face, leave on for 10-15 minutes, then wash off with warm water. It can get a little messy, as it does harden when wearing it and it can go a bit crumbly! Also expect to find seaweed bits in the sink when you wash it off!

However, putting that aside, this really is a gorgeous face mask. It smells lovely, a nice minty smell. It leaves my skin feeling really soft and cleansed, which is exactly what I want from a face mask.

I will definitely be purchasing this face mask again and I will also be trying out some of the other face masks from Lush!

Glossybox: November 2015

Yet again, another fantastic box this month from Glossybox!
This box contains three full sized products and two sample sizes (the sample sizes are still pretty big though!) and some well know brands too, MUA, Eylure, Revlon...

Here's what I got in this months box.

MUA Eyeshadow Palette - full size £4
This is one of the full sized products, the MUA eyeshadow palette. I was really excited when I saw this in the box, I already own so many of the MUA palettes and they are really great!
This palette contains both matte and shimmery shades and the colours are absolutely gorgeous. Perfect for both daytime and nighttime, this palette is a definite winner.

Eylure Natural Lashes - full size £5
With the festive season fast approaching, these fake lashes are perfect for adding extra length and volume to the lashes. They are super easy to apply and they are also reusable!

Royal Apothic Body Lotion - full size £14.50
This is one of the sample sized products, however when I first opened it, I thought it was a full sized product, it's a great size for only a sample! Even though the packaging makes it look like toothpaste (?) it's a really nice body lotion, very moisturising and it smells really nice too.

Emite Diamond Heart Primer - full size £25.90
This is the other sample sized product. I've not tried this product out properly yet, but I'm really excited to. This product is designed to even the skin tone, boosts radiance and creates a smooth finish, prepping the skin for makeup application.

Revlon Super Lustrous Lipstick - full size £7.99
This month, subscribers had the choice of selecting their preferred shade lipstick from a choice of four colours. I decided to go for the pink colour, in shade "Pink in the Afternoon". I'm in love with this lipstick, it is the perfect natural "pinky" colour. It is really moisturising on the lips and the lasting power is really good.

Overall I'm super impressed with this box and can't wait to get the next one!

If you are considering signing up for this wonderful monthly subscription box, you can do so here.

Quote of the Week

I think this quote is definitely relevant right now as to what as happened recently. When I woke up Saturday morning and heard about the awful attacks in Paris and in other parts of the world, my heart broke into a million pieces. It makes me so ashamed to say that I live in this world with these disgusting "humans", what is the world coming to?

My heart and all my love goes out to anyone who has been affected by these events.

La Roche-Posay Effaclar Duo

I've heard so many things about this product recently, so I thought I would purchase it and see what all the hype is about!

Effaclar Duo is an anti-blemish cream, designed to target the key signs of oily, blemish-prone skin. It helps to unclog the pores and corrects the appearance of blemishes and redness. It also helps to reduce the appearance of shine.

You apply the cream to the entire face, after cleansing, morning and evening. You can apply it with or without a moisturiser.

Like many other reviews I have read, I have had a few breakouts when I first started using this product. This did kind of put me off using it again, for obvious reasons... However, I continued to carry on using it anyway, and I'm so glad that I did.

I have quite an uneven skin tone, I do have quite a lot of redness. After about a week of using this product, this redness was reduced and my skin tone looks really even now.

After about 2 weeks of using it, I have noticed a dramatic reduction in the amount of spots I get. My skin has never been this clear before! I still have a couple of spots at the moment, but I think they will clear up within no time at all.

I highly recommend this product, especially if you do suffer with spots or acne. It really is a miracle product! You can buy the product here.

Kiko Milano: A Mini Haul

This weekend I went shopping to my local Intu shopping centre to start doing some Christmas shopping. I noticed a new Kiko Milano shop, so I decided to have a quick look round.

Cleansing Pure Gel £6.90
The first section in the shop I went to was the skincare section. I picked up this Cleansing Pure Gel as I needed a new cleanser. I love this product, I applied it in the evening to a damp face, lathered it up into a foam and rinsed it off. It smelled really nice and let my face feeling really cleansed and soft.

Mat Fluid £11.90
One of the ladies in the shop recommended this product to me as I told her I have combination skin type. She said the Mat Fluid moisturises the face, but also gives a matte finish, to get rid of any excess oil on the face. I was really excited to use this product and I'm so glad I bought it, as it does exactly what it says it does!

Kiss Balm £5.90
There was an offer on in the shop when I went, if you purchased two skincare products, you got a free Kiss Balm worth £5.90! They do many colours, but I picked up this pink-coral shade called Apricot. This product reminds me of the Benefit balms. It's really moisturising on the lips, with a faint hint of colour.

Colour Correction Wheel £12.90
I also decided to pick up this Colour Correction Wheel. I have never used colour correction before, I have only ever used normal concealers. These are cream textures and the colours are really pigmented. I'm really excited to try out this product!

Smart Lip Pencil £2.50
I finally picked a Smart Lip pencil. I can't exactly remember which shade I picked up, but it's a mix between a rose and red colour. It glides on the lips really easily and the colour lasts all day. Definitely my favourite lip liner!

I would definitely purchase from this brand again, I think I may have another trip to the shops next weekend and pick up a few more things!

Dead Sea Spa Magik Mud Mask

I love pampering myself a couple of times during the week and what can possibly be better than indulging in a gorgeous face mask to make your skin look amazing?

This face mask is definitely one of my favourites. It is designed to deep cleanse your skin to reveal a clear complexion. I always suffer with spots and oily patches of skin, so I thought this mask would be perfect for me.

I apply this mask a couple of times a week. The directions say to leave it on for 1-5 minutes, however, I leave it on for much longer (about 15 minutes haha!) You then simply wash it off with a clean, wet sponge. Unlike many face masks, this one removes so easily, you don't have to scrub your face to get it off.

I would say that after a while of using it, my skin has definitely cleared up a lot. Straight after using it, my skin feels baby soft and completely cleansed and clean.

The only thing I don't particularly like about the product is the smell. Obviously, because it's a mud mask, it doesn't smell of pretty flowers or fruit, it literally smells of mud. It's not the nicest smell in the world, but it's not too off-putting.

I brought this mask from Holland and Barratt and I think it cost me about £7. It's a little pricey for a small tube, but a little goes a long way and with how it's made my skin look and feel, it's 100% worth the money!
