My Holiday Beauty Essentials

I'm going to Skiathos in Greece in five days, so I thought I would put together a little blog post about some of my holiday beauty essentials I like to take abroad with me, in case any of you lovely people are also going away and have no idea what to pack, beauty wise!

Not my photo, found on Pinterest.

Skincare

Suncream, obviously. There is nothing worse than sunburnt, peeling skin, so suncream is a must to keep your skin protected from the sun.

I love to wear a shimmery body oil like the Cocoa Brown Golden Goddess Shimmering Body Oil in the evenings to enhance my tan and give me a healthy, shimmering glow to the skin.

Lip balm with added SPF is a must have to keep your lips hydrated and protected from the sun all day long. I really like the Palmers Cocoa Butter Ultra Moisturising Lip Balm with SPF 15.

I always seem to end up taking a body moisturiser containing coconut in it, I just love the smell of coconut! To me, it is a really "summery" smell. This year I'm taking the Body Shop Coconut Body Butter.

I also always take an Aftersun with me. I really like the Nivea After Sun Bronze Tan Prolonging Lotion as it really helps to soothe the skin after being in the sun all day and it also helps to enhance your tan and make it last much longer.

Hair

Shampoo & Conditioner. I like to wash my hair every evening when I'm on holiday to make it feel fresh after sunbathing all day long! I like to get a shampoo and conditioner which contains Argan Oil, so it feels silky soft and it gets that little bit extra nourishment.

Hair ties are a must when I'm on holiday, as I can't bear to wear my hair down during the day, it's just far too hot for that.

I always take a hair oil with me like the Moroccanoil Treatment to keep the ends of my hair hydrated and help keep my frizz under control in the humidity.

Makeup

Bright lips are an essential for me for summer evenings, I always like to take a couple of bright lipstick options with me abroad. I really like the MUA Luxe Velvet Lip Lacquer in Zest. This is a really gorgeous, bright coral coloured liquid lipstick, which stays on all evening, so matter how much you eat or drink. I also try to only take liquid lipsticks abroad with me, as you don't have to worry about them melting in the heat!

Rather than wearing a foundation in the evenings, I always prefer to wear a BB Cream as they feel much more lightweight on the skin than a foundation. I also find that my skin doesn't get as oily when I wear a BB Cream.

I always wear a waterproof mascara during the day when I'm on holiday as I don't want sea water or sweat (ew) ruining my eye makeup and having it run down my cheeks!

Other

I always like to carry a packet of baby wipes around in my beach bag. When I'm sunbathing, I like to give my face a quick wipe just to freshen up and wipe off any excess sweat! Gross I know, but it makes me feel so much fresher. You could also use them all over your body just to freshen up during the day.

Fresh, summer fragrance. This year I'm taking the Next Sparkle Azure Body Mist with me, which is a beautiful, fresh floral accord with aquatic and white musk tones. The mist also contains a shimmer, so when you spray it on to your body, you look all shimmery and gorgeous!

Bondi Sands Liquid Gold

I am no way an expert in the fake tanning department, I have probably fake tanned about once in my lifetime! However, I was sat outside in the garden the other day with my pasty, pale legs out and I thought something had to change. Lying for hours in the sun isn't really an option as I burn to a crisp, so I thought I would be adventurous and invest in some fake tan.

I recently watched on YouTube Lydia Millen's video on How To Get A Perfect & Even Fake Tan and in the video she used the Bondi Sands Liquid Gold Self Tanning Oil. It looked so easy and quick to use, so this was the self-tan I decided to pick up from my local Boots store.

The best thing about this product is that unlike many other fake tans, you don't have to wash it off afterwards. You can jump in the shower, exfoliate your whole body, apply the tan after your shower, get dressed, put make up on and then carry on with the rest of your day!

Also, rather than having that awful "fake tan" smell, this has a coconut scent, which is one of my favourite scents ever.

The only issue with this is that because it is an oil, you can't really see where you have applied it on your skin. However, as long as you're using a tanning mitt and making sure you buff it out as much as possible, you will be left with a gorgeous, streak-free, even, natural looking tan.

I'm definitely so glad that I decided to pick this up and I think from now on, fake tanning will definitely play more of a part in my skincare routine.

Remember to stay protected in the sun! Always wear suncream and try to avoid the harsh sun between the hours of 11am and 3pm. Try to cover up as much as possible or stay in the shade. Be aware that this product does not contain SPF.

Snapchatters To Follow

Snapchat has recently become one of my favourite social media platforms, I'm literally obsessed, checking it religiously whenever I have chance.

Adding people on Snapchat isn't the easiest of tasks. You need to know their usernames to be able to add them, and what if they aren't really worth adding in the first place?

I'm obsessed with watching Lydia's Snaps. From regular outfit Snaps to Snaps of her Bengal cat Lumi, I just love keeping up to date on what her day consists of. She has the best style and her home is so gorgeous!

Rosie is a travel blogger and I love watching her Snaps of all the different and beautiful places she visits.

Glossybox: May 2016

This month's collector's edition box is dedicated to Glossybox's favourite urban destinations. There are four collectable boxes all themed as London, Paris, New York or Berlin. The design of these boxes are by OMY Studio and I'm absolutely in love with this months box, especially the design!

Crabtree & Evelyn - full size £5.00
This hand cream has won many awards and it's very clear as to why. It contains nourishing shea butter and macadamia nut oil as well as myrrh to condition your nails and cuticles. It leaves hands feeling silky soft and hydrated and it smells gorgeous too.

Absolute New York Velvet Lippie - full size £4.93
Everyone knows I love a liquid lipstick, so I was super excited to receive this. It looks like a nude shade from the photo, but it's actually a gorgeous pink-coral colour, perfect for summer. It glides on really smoothly and sets to a gorgeous matte finish.

Loceryl Nail Gel - full size £16.99
This gel is designed to improve the condition of your nails, promoting natural growth and helping to repair damage and discolouration. It says to apply twice a day and within a few weeks you should start to see results.

Bee Good Youth Enhancing Plump & Firm Moisturiser - full size £23.50
This moisturiser plumps, smooths and softens the skin, leaving it feeling really nourished and hydrated with a lovely dewy, luminosity finish. The packaging is cute too.

Revlon Volume & Length Magnified Mascara - full size £9.99

This month, Glossybox subscribers were given the chance to pick which one of Revlon's new mascaras they wanted to have. I picked the Volume & Length Magnified mascara as I need all the help I can get in the eyelash department. This mascara is fantastic and I love the unusual packaging.

I also got a packet of Popcorn in my box too. Slightly random but a nice touch. However, I don't like popcorn so I ended up giving it to my mum, so she was super happy with what I got in this box haha!

If you are thinking of subscribing to this monthly subscription beauty box, you can do so here.

What did you think of this month's box?

Stila Stay All Day HD Beauty Balm

Sometimes I just really can't be bothered to wear a full face of makeup, however I still want to look a little presentable. That's when I reach for my Stila Stay All Day 10-In-1 HD Beauty Balm

This beauty balm has so many different benefits to it, it really is an essential in your makeup stash. When applying it, it can feel a bit thick on the skin, however, it blends in really easily and leaves a really light, powdery finish on the skin.

When applied, I find that is really reduces the size of my pores and helps prevent any excess oil on my skin. It also seems to have a "blurring" effect which helps to hide imperfections.

This product contains Tripeptide-37, bamboo and pea extracts which all help to diminish the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles. It also infused with natural, skin protecting emollients which increase anti-oxidant activity by up to 89.7%.

I also sometimes like to wear this underneath my foundation as a primer and I really find that it helps my makeup stay on much longer and helps my foundation applies more smoothly.

Stila also have the Stila Stay All Day 10-In-1 Illuminating Beauty Balm, which is am illuminating version of this beauty balm, which I am really wanting to try out!
