Day Out in London

Yesterday I went to London with my favourite people; my lovely boyfriend and my best friend and her boyfriend. We did so much walking and exploring, there was just so much to see and do, it was overwhelming trying to take it all in!

If you've never been to London, I highly recommend you have a trip there sometime; it really is amazing. When you see it on TV, it's exactly like that in real life!

Below are a few photos from our day trip, hope you enjoy looking at them.

London Eye
Big Ben
Trafalgar Square
Regent Street

Me and Jamie have both decided we are going to make a conscious effort to travel to London more and have more day's out there, as we had the most amazing time and didn't want to come home!

Garlic Parmesan Fries

I found this recipe on the Recipe Diaries and oh my goodness, my mouth is watering just looking at the photos!

Ingredients
  • 3 potatoes, cut into wedges
  • 4 garlic cloves
  • Olive oil for drizzling
  • Salt and pepper
  • Parmesan cheese
  • Dried parsley flakes

Instructions
  1. Preheat an oven to 375 degrees.
  2. Cut the potatoes into wedges. Place the potatoes on a lined sheet tray with aluminum foil. Drizzle some olive oil over the fries and then the garlic. Season with salt and pepper and then the parmesan cheese. Using your hands, toss the potatoes around a bit so that the fries get all coated in all the good stuff.
  3. Bake in an oven for 30 minutes or until the potatoes have turned golden brown.

As you can see, super easy to make, and they look super delicious! I will definitely be making these sometime soon.

Glossybox: August 2015

Hi everyone!
This month I decided to sign up to the beauty box, Glossybox. I have previously signed up for other beauty boxes, but they just weren't my cup of tea. I've heard only amazing things about this beauty box, so I decided to sign up for it.

After payment, I was so excited to receive my first box, every evening I would come home from work, rush through the door to see if it had arrived. It didn't take too long for it to arrive, about five days to be exact (including the weekend).

The packaging was simple, but really nice. Nicely gift wrapped in a lovely, pale pink box; with pink tissue paper and black shredded tissue paper to keep my items protected during transit. This came nicely wrapped in some black ribbon. I will definitely be keeping the box for some kind of storage!

Naobay Calming Face Toner - full size £10.65

This product is the Naobay Calming Face Toner. It removes traces of makeup while also cleansing, calming and hydrating the skin, and it is also 99.13% natural. The packaging is really nice as well. I've been looking for some new skincare products to try, so I'm really excited to try this out.

Sass Intimate Purifying Cleanser - full size £7

I don't really know what to make of this product as I have never used anything like this before! It is an intimate cleanser, designed for every-day use, to help keep you feeling clean and fresh all day long. It's very easy to use, just apply to the body in the shower and rinse off with fresh water.

MeMeMe Lipglide in Playful Peach - full size £6.95

The colour of this lip crayon is so nice, a peachy, coral colour. I have tried this product on my lips; It is a matte shade, but still feels really nourishing and hydrating.

Emile Artist Colour Powder Blush (shade 108) - full size  £20.59

The packaging for this product looks quite cheap, however, my first impressions of this product are really good. It is kind of a mix between a bronzer and a blusher. The colour looks really pigmented and the texture feels lovely.

Manna Kadar Lash Primer - full size  £14.55

This lash primer is a creamy gel formula, which nourishes the lashes, leaving them feeling conditioned and voluminous. I would apply this product to my lashes before putting on mascara. I've never used a lash primer before, so I'm really excited to try this out!

Overall, I'm really impressed with the contents of this beauty box and I'm already looking forward to next months!

theBalm Mary-Lou Manizer (AKA "The Luminizer")

Not my photo. Source: www.feelunique.com

After hearing only amazing things about this highlighter, I decided to have a look on feelunique.com and treat myself to some. I'm so glad I did!

The product cost me £17.50 and because I bought other products as well, I managed to get free postage and packaging. Now I know that £17.50 does seem quite expensive for just some highlighter... but seriously it's so worth the money.

The packaging is super cute. It comes in a metal tin, with also a compact mirror inside, perfect for touching-up on the go. The highlighter comes in one colour; a honey-hued, "champagney" colour.

You may not be able to tell from the photo, but it is very shimmery and a powdery texture. Exactly what I wanted from a highlighter. It gives my skin a gorgeous, but subtle glow.

I applied the highlighter over my cheekbones, on my brow bone and above my eyebrows. It gave me an amazing, radiant glow, but wasn't too overpowering! You can also use this product as an eyeshadow or use is as an all-over finishing touch, ready for a night out.

Overall, I am so impressed with this product, I would definitely 100% buy this again. It is one of my favourite highlighters I have tried.

Which is your favourite highlighter? Have any of you tried this product?

New addition to the family...

Jamie has a new kitten!
Her name is Mia, she is 8 weeks old and just look at her face... Isn't she the most beautiful little thing?
I am so in love with her, I just can't stop cuddling her... I feel like she's my own baby.

Anyway, in the next week, I will be doing quite a few product reviews (hopefully!), as I've had a bit of a spending splurge this week and I want to share these amazing products with you!

Stay tuned...

Easy Up-Do's

So, this weekend I am going camping with my lovely boyfriend and a few friends. I'm not going to want to wash my hair over the weekend due to not being able to use a hairdryer or hair straightener (eek!) so I found a few easy up-do hairstyles which would be perfect for a camping weekend.

These hairstyles are perfect to hide greasy unwashed hair, but still look fabulous at the same time! ;)

Home Inspo

Source: http://thefashionistasdiary.com
At the moment, me and Jamie are constantly talking about moving out of our family homes and moving into our own home together. It's not been possible yet, due to financial issues, but it's a work in progress.

Jamie's parents have gone on holiday for the week, so I have moved into his parents house with him while they're gone, just to get a "taster" of what it will be like.

Things are going okay so far... apart from I've ended up doing all the cooking!

But seriously, I'm really enjoying it. Just to have our own space and freedom is wonderful.
Even though it's going to be a while until we do get our own place, I can't stop looking at interior design websites and photos.

Here's just some "inspo" I have fallen in love with and thought I would share with you guys!

Mini Beauty Haul (MUA, Batiste & Barry M)

Hello again!
This weekend I took a trip to my local Superdrug and picked up a few treats for myself.
Here's what I picked up:

Batiste Dry Shampoo (Eden - Sugar melon & honeysuckle fragrance)
Batiste dry shampoo is my absolute life saver! Been using this product for ages now, and I love trying out different fragrances. This one is one of my favourites, It smells so floral and girly, I love it.
I always use this product in between hair washes, it keeps my hair looking clean, volumuised and freshly washed!

One of the brands I'm in love with at the moment is MUA Makeup Academy from Superdrug. I haven't tried out any of the MUA products I bought today as of yet, I will do a more in-depth review about each product in the next week or so!

MUA Undress Your Skin Flawless Skin Primer (£4 or £5, I can't remember!)

On the back of this product, it states, "Reduce the appearance of fine lines and pores and leaves your skin feeling velvety soft. Creates a flawless complexion that can be worn alone or under foundation."
Although I haven't tried this product properly yet, I tested a little on the back of my hand.
It comes out as a clear gel-like liquid. As I rubbed it into my skin, it actually did leave my skin feeling super smooth and "velvety". I'm very excited to try this product properly on my face as a primer underneath my makeup.

MUA PowerPout Acrylic £3 each
I have heard a few good things about these lip products so I decided to pick up a couple. One is a purple berry colour and the other is a nude pinky colour. Yet again, I haven't had the chance to try these out properly, but I did swatches on the back of my hand. The colour was really pigmented and when I tried to wipe it off with a makeup wipe, it was quite difficult to come off, so I imagine these will be quite long-wearing. Again, I am super excited to try these properly.

MUA Mosaic Blush (I think this was about £3!)
I'm not really a blush kind of person, I usually go for bronzer, as I like the bronzed look. However, I saw this on the shelf and I thought it looked so nice, I had to get it. The colours look really pigmented with a slight shimmer.

Barry M pencil sharpener (Think this was about £3, maybe I should keep my receipts so I actually know how much products cost when I write a blog post!)
I lost my amazing sharpener I have been using to sharpen my makeup pencils, and I was gutted. So to top off my mini beauty haul, I bought this Barry M sharpener. It has a regular sized pencil sharpener, and also a sharpener for the chubbier pencils. It also stores the sharpenings within the sharpener, so no need to have a bin available. Hopefully, this will keep up to the standards of my lost sharpener!

Have any of you tried out any of these products recently? Or have any products you think will interest me?
